Pascal Affi N’Guessan, legal president of the Front Populaire Ivoirien (FPI) and spokesperson for the National Transitional Council (CNT) was arrested on 6 Nov 20 and has not been heard from since a proof-of-life video was released on 9 Nov 20. After a meeting between President Ouattara and former President Henri Konan Bedie, now Parti Démocratique de Côte d’Ivoire (PDCI) and CNT president, the blockades around the opposition leaders’ houses were removed.

Adding to the confusion, Africa Intelligence reported the president of Guinea Bissau, a political enemy of Ouattara, is trying to convince his Congolese counterpart to exploit the political upheaval in Ivory Coast.
